'Travels abroad often provide inspiration for my work; I am drawn towards structures and form (including the human form) with recent work focussing on cityscapes. I am also interested in reflections and the suggestion of interior lives (behind windows, around corners in narrow streets) – what we don’t see clearly but we know, or think that we know is there.

I paint mainly in oils and prefer to work on a fairly large scale. My work is figurative but not literal; aiming to capture the essence of what interested me in the subject rather than to describe it literally.’

Alison has exhibited regularly with an artists' cooperative in Worcestershire, and through other sources; with commissioned work held in various private collections.
